COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer Cuvée des Jacobins is unblended old lambic, aged for at least 18 months in (French) oak barrels from the cognac region. These oak barrels are called ’Foeders’ in Dutch. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

1- dark fruit, cherry, plum no hop characte2- 2- dark red burgundy, no head, quite still 3- cherries, almonds, cough syrup, some caramel sweetness 4- medium body, acidic aftertaste 5- overall a very nice example pf a Flanders Red. I would have liked a little bit more malt sweetness to balance the acidity.

On draft at The Ginger Man, NYC. A sophisticated blend of old lambic, oak and sour funk. Mild sweetness balances the sour flavors with oak. Lingering finish. Very nice!

Fruktig, syrlig, kanske körsbär? Kraftig i smaken, lite vagare i aromen. Fint röd/brun i kroppen.

@ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Clear very dark amber, nice 2" head that drops to a full off-white cover in 2-3 minutes. Taste is malt with a bit of sour cherry, pear, and maybe a little vanilla that turns beautifully sour in a lingering finish. An exceptional sour ale, maybe the best I’ve encountered.

Jajamän, det har var en riktigt trevlig upplevelse. Smaken var fint balanserad och komplex med toner av syra och bär. Som sagt, en trevlig upplevelse det här.

Excellent to-style Flemish sour. Cherry meat and pits with notes of oak and a sublime light vinegar tartness. Truly a great beer.

Gift from Rune, bbf my50th anniv., thanks man! Brown bottle 33cl pours a light beige 2-finger head that makes some lacings, on the ruby-copper clear body. Sour grapes, grass, some malts, winey stuff, to the nose. Sour berries as redcurrant to the tongue, sour green apple, fruit wine stuff. High carbonation disturbs me a little. There is some bread in the finish, under the dominant now sweeter redcurrant juice. I guess it is meant to be this way, acc2the style. Nevertheless, I don’t know this style, so my points are probably very subjective.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Spare off-white head and amber-coloured. Aroma is dominated by raspberry, brown sugar, vanilla and vinegar. Palate-feel is lively and chalky.
