COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer Cuvée des Jacobins is unblended old lambic, aged for at least 18 months in (French) oak barrels from the cognac region. These oak barrels are called ’Foeders’ in Dutch. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

Such an enjoyable sour ale. Amazing sweet/sour balance of flavor. Rich orange candied sour notes that seem to continue forever. Dark cherry notes with some vanilla on the finish. Really good. Highly recommended.

(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, sourish nose with oak wood, sour cherries, apples, balsamic vinegar, caramel and pink grapefruit. Fruity, tart taste with notes of oak wood, apples, cherries, caramel, balsamic vinegar, a touch of vanilla, citrus and a tart and dry finish with low bitterness. Medium body, dry. Well made sour ale with a fresh acidity. An excellent example of the style. Lovely beer.

Pour from bottle. Spicy aroma, but complex cherry sour palate. Not fruity per se, but certainly rich and sour. This is a good one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cerveza dulce, muy ligera. La primera impresión es sabor manzana ácida. Es fresca, recuerda a la sidra.

Dark red in colour with a slight cream head. Tons of vinegar on the nose. Sour and very balanced tangy and a licker of the lips! Totally delicious.

Ruby red colored, medium beige frothy head with nice lacing. Aroma is candy sugar, lots of dried fruits, tart and Brett. Taste is medium sweet dried fruits, brewing sugar, sour cherries, bit oaky, funky, tart, medium sourness, dry finish. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, crisp. (on tap, Gainsbar, Kortrijk)

330ml bottle pours a slightly hazy amber color with a finger of off-white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is cherries. Taste is a cherry tartness with a malty sweetness. Medium bodied with generous carbonation. More complex than I can do it justice. This is a world class sour ale that must be tried.

Btl pours hazy red color with a tiny off white head that dissappears quickly leaving no lace on glass. Aromas of apples, berries, vinegar, earth and wood. Tastes of sour apples, grapes, tart cherries and plums. Full body, high carbonation, soft yet effervescent mouthfeel, dry astringent mouth puckering finish. This beer truly has an incredible flavor profile. Almost to many flavors to describe. It is not to sweet as many other sour reds/browns seem to be and that’s a good thing. Very pleasing and refreshing beer that will wake up your sensory perceptions. Sour power!
