COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer Cuvée des Jacobins is unblended old lambic, aged for at least 18 months in (French) oak barrels from the cognac region. These oak barrels are called ’Foeders’ in Dutch. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

Simply amazing from tap. Dark brown with a thin head. The nose is loaded with vegetal/balsamic notes. Medium bodied sour with plenty of tart berry an field greens. Long finish.

Sweet & sour cherries, S - tart cherries, mild vinegar T- vibrant sweet and sour cherries. Very well balance between the sourness and the sweet fruity cherries. Faint oakiness in there as well. Overall an exceptional beer! I would drink it again!

Pours a deep plum red with a light tan head. Aromas of oaky vanilla, cranberries, cherries, hints of peppery barnyard, and slight acidity. Perfect medium light body, that finishes crisp and blows your taste buds into heavenly oblivion with flavors of: sour cherries, cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, lots of balanced acidity (lactic and just enough acetic), tons of tannins from the wood, and a bit of barnyard all balanced out by some residual malty sweetness. In my opinion this is the best Flemish Red I’ve ever had and one of my favorite beers. This would be killer with goat cheese, cheesecake, foie gras, or lobster.

Great nose, proper color, perfect amount of sour taste, clean finish, what more could you ask for in a sour.....too bad I got the last pour before the keg blew.

Pours red brown with a large light tan head. Smells mildly sour and mildly sweet. Taste is sour with a very subtle sweetness. Medium-bodied with an astringent texture and prickly mouth-carbonation, Bockor Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge finishes with subtle fruit and fair amounts of sourness.

On tap at hot city pizza for beer week. Aroma is of sour cherry, makes my mouth water. Flavour is also dominated by sour cherries, some cocoa in the way background. This is very close to Russian river supplication, or perhaps visa versa.

Draft at Pizzaria Paradiso. Wow! Pours a very dark garnet. Aroma is sour fruit, vinegar and some malt. Flavor is mostly sour apple and red wine vinegar, with a decent malt background. The sour kick grows through the finish with a tart aftertaste. Fantastic! Exactly what I want from a Flemish Red.
