COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OMER. traditional blond is made of excellent summer malted barley from the Loire region (France) and pure water. During the brewing process sugars are liberated that will serve later to nourish the yeast. During the cooking process 3 varieties of hops from Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic are added to give the beer the specific aroma and bitterness

Bottle at home. Pours a clear golden straw-yellow colour with a big frothy and white head which falls down pretty fast. Aroma of pale malt, hay, grass and some pepper, alcohol, citrus and belgian yeast. Not far from a pilsener. The flavour is not very impressive either with hay, sweet corn, hops and some spices and alcohol. The mouthfeel is soft and slick, and has a light to medium bitterness. I’m a bit disappointed by this beer, and is pretty boring and too close to a light lager in aroma and flavour.

In fles van 33cl. Geel van kleur met een mooie en luchtige schuimkop. Duidelijke knisper met een banaanachtige nasmaak.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A sparkling golden beer with a large white head, medium retention. Herbal aroma, fruit (lemon), light caramel. Medium dry bitter and light sweet. Light to medium body, medium texture, good carbonation, dry bitter finish with a warming note. Overall, a good blond belgian ale, nice herbal aroma.

Classic straw look to the pour. Aroma is pretty non-existent, which is surprising given the spicy flavours. Taste is spicy, sweet yet quite drinkable. Abv pretty absent on the flavours. Little sickly sweet on the finish. Decent stuff.

11.2 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Orange and cloudy appearnce with a lingering beige head and sticky lacing. Belgian yeast, fruity esters, toasted grains, banana, light caramel/toffee, floral notes, earthy hops, herbs and light spices. Pretty full body with a smooth, creamy feel and medium sweet finish.

Heerlijk blond bier met een stevig karakter. Kleurt donkerblond, frisse smaak die in de mond een vol aroma achterlaat

An average blond beer, malty but a bit at the thin side. Another Belgian strong blond without distinct taste.

Bockor’s attack on Duvel since 2008, named after the founder of the brewery and a commercial success since then. Thick, snow white, stable head, clear golden blonde robe with lively sparkling. Aroma of green apple, iron, grass, field flowers, unripe peach, white cabbage; grainy onset with strong carbo, lightly sweet, light pale maltiness, smooth, bit metallic, finishing in gently bitter grassy hops but less long than I expected. One of the better Duvel offspring, but still doesn’t beat the real thing, in my view.
