COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OMER. traditional blond is made of excellent summer malted barley from the Loire region (France) and pure water. During the brewing process sugars are liberated that will serve later to nourish the yeast. During the cooking process 3 varieties of hops from Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic are added to give the beer the specific aroma and bitterness

Bottle at home. Pours a clear golden straw-yellow colour with a big frothy and white head which falls down pretty fast. Aroma of pale malt, hay, grass and some pepper, alcohol, citrus and belgian yeast. Not far from a pilsener. The flavour is not very impressive either with hay, sweet corn, hops and some spices and alcohol. The mouthfeel is soft and slick, and has a light to medium bitterness. I’m a bit disappointed by this beer, and is pretty boring and too close to a light lager in aroma and flavour.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours cloudy bright orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, light banana, pepper, honey, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Tasted 17/3/15 at Ieper, Belgium. BB 10 02 17. Poured a clouded honey colour with a one- to two-finger white foamy head that retained well but laced poorly. Carbonation nil. Aroma slightly of lemon/citrus. Taste slightly sweet, slightly tart and with slight malt characters. Light body. Smooth, dry, subtle tartness. Quite nice.

Not a fan. Looks good with a full white head and just enough carbonation. Flavor is a bit one dimensional. Alcohol has a strong presence and the sweetness is more sugar sweet than malt sweet. It is nicely hopped with a long bitter aftertaste.

Yellow hazy with medium white head. Citrus sourness follwed by hoppy bitterness, which stays as aftertaste.

Robe blonde, reflets verts. Nez sur le houblon, le citron, les fruits jaunes, la levure. Bouche à l’attaque ample, une belle mousse crémeuse, une rétro houblonnée et une finale fraîche et équilibrée. Un bière raffraîchissante, équilibrée.

Bottle at Vlissingen. Clear golden with a big foamy head. Aroma is yeast, white bread, some citrus, grassy notes. Looooots of carbo, I thought Duvel was overcarbonated but this is in another league. Yeasty, malts, citrus, oranges. Decent.

A rather strong aroma (especially for a blond beer) of hops, yeast and a lot of alcohol. Quite the treat.

Bottle. Golden-blond with a thick frothy head. Light in its style despite its strength with some lager style malts evident.
