COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OMER. traditional blond is made of excellent summer malted barley from the Loire region (France) and pure water. During the brewing process sugars are liberated that will serve later to nourish the yeast. During the cooking process 3 varieties of hops from Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic are added to give the beer the specific aroma and bitterness

Bottle at home. Pours a clear golden straw-yellow colour with a big frothy and white head which falls down pretty fast. Aroma of pale malt, hay, grass and some pepper, alcohol, citrus and belgian yeast. Not far from a pilsener. The flavour is not very impressive either with hay, sweet corn, hops and some spices and alcohol. The mouthfeel is soft and slick, and has a light to medium bitterness. I’m a bit disappointed by this beer, and is pretty boring and too close to a light lager in aroma and flavour.

Helder gouden bier met ruime witte schuimkraag. Aroma: moutig, hoppig. Smaak: zoetig, bitterig. Mondgevoel is ruim met mooie koolzuur en bitterig-zoete afdronk.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is a little hazy golden blonde colored and has a large and stable white head, with livingly CO2. The aroma is complex, but a subtle bitterness of hops is noticable, but also green apples and flowers. The taste is creamy and full bodied, it has a delicate bitterness and fruitiness of small sweet pear and apple. A delightful, medium finish with fine bitterness and a slight sweetness which is also a little dry.

33cl bottle. Pale yellow pour, clear, with a tall white head. Smells like a typical Belgian pale ale, of hay, lemons, yeast, honey. Tastes dry and bitter, with the taste following the aroma notes. A bit too much alcohol in the aftertaste, but other than that this is quite a decent beer.

bottle - Pours golden with a lingering white head. The aroma is grainy with Belgian yeast spice. It tastes with with grainy malt, fruity esters, and some alcohol. It’s an average Belgian brew at best, though that’s still pretty good.

Bottle, shared with Davey. Slightly hazy lemony yellow, lively white head. Lightly phenolic, pale malt barley candy, reedy notes, boozy undertones. A bit much.

33 cl bottle at Het Spiegelbeeld, Eindhoven, on December 12, 2015.
BB 04 08 17. Easy read Omer Traditional Blond, more difficult read Omer Vander Ghinste.
Clear golden color, big off-white head. Sweet, malty, a bit grainy scent. Malty, light sweet, sort of grainy taste. Short malty, light bitter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Leaves some lacing.
