Delicious. jerc (3056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 17, 2008 2008-03-07. Dark ruby tinged brown body with a good sized beige head. Aroma of spic, hint of licorice? Sweet malty base, some fruity character. (7+) Similar flavour, spicy with notes of something not quite licorice or anise - liqueur like in that respect. Malt underpinnings. Medium palate could be a bit more full for my liking but it is quite smooth across the tongue. Surprisingly tasty, I did not expect much. Bottle at Beer Mania, Brussels
Maria (3816), Thisted, Denmark Mar 2, 2008 Beautiful red mahogany with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness, notes of roasted malt, spice, anise among others. The flavour has sweetness, notes of roasted malt, candy sugar, light anise and licorice - very pleasantly balanced. The finish has a very light touch of citrus. This beer has a very nice harmony with sweetness and yet very refreshing. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Feb 13, 2008 33cl bottle: Pours ruby/amber with a fine lasting creamy head. Aroma & taste is sweet & spicy - cloves, malts, liquorice, orange peel, alcohol, anise & brown sugar. Full bodied. Warmth from alcohol. Flavor grows on me throughout. Nice!
