Dark brown, caramel-sweet ale with just a little depth. Nice tan head on top lasts a little while. It came across as a fairly classic version of a Belgian Christmas beer. A bit simple maybe, but a touch of bitterness helps keep the alcohol hidden and the beer fairly balanced. Does get a bit cloying toward the end.

Pours a dark brownish color with a light brownish head. Aroma filled with malt and candi-sugar and barley.
Taste comes with dark fruits (cherry, prunes or raisins) spices, possible cinamon and coriander.
Beer is very well balanced and really reminds us of the festive times of the end of the year during the cold season.
Beer gains a lot of lavors as it warms up, a little roasted towards the end.

Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Dark redish brown. Little bit of brown head.
Aroma: Very sweet. Raisins and spices.
Taste: Too sweet. Fruits and spices. Nice malt and bitterness.

May 20, 2008 0.75l bottle: (Regal Christmas) trappist like rich in flavor. liquorice, yeast, plum, anise. Delicious.

Mar 17, 2008 2008-03-07. Dark ruby tinged brown body with a good sized beige head. Aroma of spic, hint of licorice? Sweet malty base, some fruity character. (7+) Similar flavour, spicy with notes of something not quite licorice or anise - liqueur like in that respect. Malt underpinnings. Medium palate could be a bit more full for my liking but it is quite smooth across the tongue. Surprisingly tasty, I did not expect much.
