not to bad but this widget thing is i believe taking something away from the beer exsperience they seem to only work well if you can get the beer to just the right temp

Tasted from tap in De Beiaard in Amsterdam. The head is too thick for a British beer. Just a faint hoparoma with caramel. You could say: the taste is almost neutral. There is some late hopbitterness and a very faint sourness. Still this beer is a decent thirst-quencher.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Nuffield (3087) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUN 16, 2002
Pours with that never-ending kind of head--way too thick, almost artificial in texture. Settles into an interesting (odd?) color, relatively weak aroma. Very smooth, creamy texture (compare Worthington’s, other ’cream’ beers). Drinkable flavor, esp. good for a session because its low alcohol. But two hours later, a bitterness in my tongue leaves me a bit peeved. (from a can with pressure capsule)

Medium amber clear colour with medium sized creamy white moderately long lasting head. Very faint bitter hops and vanilla aromas. Soft to medium body, unstimulatingly weak short palate and soft bland dry-bitter finish with a slightly stronger bitter aftertaste. I don’t know how they can sell so much of this stuff when there are so many better bitters out there.

Creamy head and flavour with little aroma (like most English bitters). I think it is reasonable.

pale amber colour, big creamy head, nice lace, floral aroma, very smooth, sweet and light-bodied, short slightly dry finish with notes of caramel
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 fatherpierre (62) - Leeds, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2002
A poor bitter held with low regard in the u.k. Personally I can’t stomach the stuff, it has a flavour I can only describe as ’vinegar like’.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 neilrichards (191) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2002
A fairly flavourless beer, which lacks really depth or strength. Quite smooth, but not a drink i’d quickly return too.

This beer was once THE best bitter in the UK. In the late 1960’s and the early 70’s Bodington’s beer was always on form with a creamy body and some power around 4.8% That was then, today the stuff is weak, insipid and if John Boddington is reading this then GET IT SORTED LAD. I have to say I mourn the loss of a valued friend and the brewers killed it. Be ashamed, be very ashamed: this was an institution murdered by big business.
