Can @ StoneManor.

I occasionally buy this beer so I can have a draught at home. Pours golden with a thick head. As it states on the can it is bitter. Pour into a pint glass to enjoy... bread, grass, barnyard, golden, cloudy, frothy, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter,

Keg at the Grill ABZ, thanks to Bruce for procuring this whisky cleanser, 20/06/14. Clear golden with a good sized white head that retains well, carbonation evident. Nose is caramel, light floral, vague citric notes, bready pangs, light butterscotch. Taste comprises light butterscotch, bready notes, faint caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light grassy bitterness in the close. So so keg bitter.

I used to like a pint of Boddingtons when I was in Manchester, so when I saw a can of it at the O2 arena I thought I’d give it a go. Big disappointment. A bit darker than I remember, almost honey coloured with a medium white head. Little aroma, and little taste for the first few seconds of a mouthful, after which you get salt, grass, and if I’m being generous, some caramel. Very watery. Like watching a dodgy remake of a classic film, I feel like some happy memories have been spoiled. Not happy!

Pours a light gold with a creamy white head, not much malt or hop aroma. Flavor is lightly malty with a firm bitterness. Body overall is pretty thin but the nitro helps that out. Overall needs more flavor.

Backlog. Can alc. 3.5%. Clear amber color, generous white creamy head, good retention; sweet malty aroma, a bit caramel/toffee; taste moderate sweet and slightly bitter; texture creamy, light body, low carbonation; light bitter somewhat watery finish.

Nitro can at home, 440 ml, into a big Guinness glass. ABV 3.5% Orange coloured beer with a crystal clear body, one finger of white head on top, thick and creamy. Very good retention, medium lacing left on the glass. Aroma is light fruity, with malts and obvious wheat. Quite nice smelling and deceiving as it turns out. The taste is of dirty malts, old grass, dried hay, not at all what the aroma made me expect. Everything on the taste seems old and past its prime, although the beer has a long way to go before it reaches its BB date. Light bitterness on the aftertaste that is not enough to leave positive impressions in any way. Thin body and totally flat, and to think this is a nitro can.. Overall it starts good but it’s all downhill from there, disappointing.
