UPDATED: FEB 4, 2003 Jan 2002 Had on draft. The appearance is that of Guinness, only gold instead of black -- beautiful. After that, kind of a boring everyday English light ale. Miles better than what most Americans drink everyday -- as smooth as something like Miller, but with more malt and enough hops so you know its beer -- but its a sad Irish pub that doesn't offer something better.

Feb 2003. BORING! I finally am really understanding why others hate nitro, and why "smooth" isn't always a compliment when it comes to beer. Thirst-quenching and easy to drink, but it was awfully hard to discern ANY flavor here other than an indistinct dryish maltiness. I will probably not have this again unless I can get to the UK.

Re-Rate 01/01/02: Pours a cloudy gold, that clears quickly and leaves a bright white head and sheets of lace. Malt nose, thin middle, nice hop spicy bite at the slightly dry finish. Little or no carbonation, clean, fresh and not a bad beer, beats the hell out of that can swill.

I could only have a few. Nitrogen system doesn’t add much to flavor. However, the beer tasted much better after having a few Bass Ales afterward.

I agree with Cobb who called this a golden Guinness. Same type of head settling show as a Guinness in the glass. Very mild, with little to no bite/aftertaste at the end. A very slight sweet taste balances out a very slight bitter taste. I could see where you could definetely make a session out of this beer. It goes down almost too easy.

I’m betting that if you could get it without the N2, then it’d be a better glass of bitter. Good appearance, sweetish, good hopping.

A great beer. Reminds me of a golden Guiness, if there ever was such a thing. Be careful though, always start out with a Boddingtons and then make the switch to something lighter. They pack a punch.

A creamy delight and just sheer heaven to drink. A visual masterpiece that tastes as good as it looks.

Creamy indeed. Poured thick and went down easy. Head interfered with the evaluation of the aroma. Mid to finish is where this beer could use some punch. Mild, if anything.
