Smooth tasting, little too creamy. Rich honey and leathery taste. Lives up to its reputation as an alternative to the mass-produced english thirst quenchers. Liked it and will try again!

Very smooth. A little light on the flavor but still a really good beer.

A big creamy head, light bodied yet relatively rich in terms of taste, some sweetness, a nice beer. Thumbs up!

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2007 Verrrrrrrry creamy. Head & lacing lasts forever. Looks terrific off the tap. Flavor is lacking though - not much character or bitterness to speak of. Extremely smooth though...

I’ve had this on tap in the US, and in Britain. Guess which is better. An amazingly creamy head prevails, and the beer is smooth and enjoyable. Nothing special, but it is a beer that you can have a few of at the end of the day and still keep your head.

I can’t believe that they would call this a bitter in any way. Ita is as smooth as they come and leaves very little in the way of complexity. A shwill beer on som N2O in a tuxedo.

Slight malt smell. Nice amber colour, beautiful creamy head. Interesting bitterness? Some sweetness. Creamy and smooth. Lace for days... Enjoyable.

Had this brew on tap at the Local in Minneapolis. I had tried it a few years earlier and recalled that it didn’t have much flavor. My memory served me well. The head is beautiful, with micro-thin bubbles ala Guiness. It almost looked strange seeing a Guiness head on a golden colored beer. The beer itself, however, was devoid of character; virtually flavorless. Perhaps a brilliant marketing strategy to push an easy-drinking snooty English Ale on the undiscerning American beer palate.
