As i rate this beer i am hangover of drinking it.Pretty malty aroma with beige head that stands until the last sip, yellow body, with little carbonation, supersmooth and pleasent taste. Wow why they dont sell it in Mexico? The flavor was medium very malty, with grassy hops present, medium bitter and some vinegar, the palate felt a little sweet.oily and creamy and overall: It makes sad that i have to travel 198 miles to the nearest dealer. Why!!!???

Creamy head and great taste! Hits the spot when thirsty. A golden ale with smooth body. golden, frothy. Tasted dark to me and was what got me drinking the darker beers.

A perfect example of a British Bitter. Little hop aroma and a light, refreshing flavor.
Carbonation is light as the style would suggest and when combined with nitrogen despensing (either off tap or special can) makes this ale creamy and easy to drink.

One of my all time favorite beers. On tap is definitely better, and luckily a pub nearby has it. This is an old standby, for sure. Perfect refined bitter flavor for the bitter lover. That’s me.

Initial Aroma: fruity-sweet and fleeting. Creamy malt with no apparent hop aroma. Perfect!
Appearance after settling down from the cascading head which I find marvelous to watch is a tawny golden-copper, brilliant clarity, and a rich creamy head so this you can float a bottle cap on it (but I won’t for that would spoil the presentation). Only the Guinness canned/bottled cum widget is equaled in this parade!
I let out a gentle sigh as the show is complete. Next up ~ the Taste!
Oh my! One long cool drag is gone and I beg for another ~ dang that was good! OK – getting serious now:
Nice almost perfectly clean creamy crystal-malty base with just the smallest hint of hop flavor and bittering to balance this elixir. There is a slight metallic middle-tone that I presume is part of the canned profile; hard to escape that given it’s traveled so far across the pond and over the hills to reach my distant shore. The finish has a slight apple-fruity sweetness that is up and gone in a breath. A slight residual diacetyl is noted but in these low amounts it is appropriate.
The temperature is just about right for serving though I know Boddingtons does not like to be too warm otherwise the hop bittering is more perceptible. I must drink faster!
The mouthfeel is wonderfully creamy, well-carbonated, no astringency, medium-light body and well rounded.
Overall, this is one of the best and smoothest session beers from Britain. The first time I had this on draught I was 1999 in merry old England: I was having the ‘Cream of Manchester’ in Manchester! My Glaswegian Wife-to-be was belting out a tune with her the 14-piece Jazz Band at this quaint old tavern. Those Manchunians bought me more pints than I could count (sadly I didn’t understand the drinking system at the time); they were very nice ladies and the beer was all very delicious.
The canned-widget version is moderately close to the real thing sans the metallic taste. Bollocks! What am I saying? There’s nothing like the real thing! Go to Manchester and have it on draught ya wee scouser! Oiy!

Almost the same as my first visit in an English countryside-pub in 1975, light, smooth but bitter in the end.

I tried this beer on tap at a local English Pub. I Liked this beer a lot and it only seemed to get better as I finished the pint. It had an excellent aroma with a a slightly bitter aftertaste. Overall, an excellent Ale!

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2005 very good beer that is easy to drink. it comes across as a thin beer(as opposed to the loaf of bread otherwise known as guinness) yet good nonetheless. I highly recommend trying this beer on tap if at all possible
