Can at home. Pours a dark orangy color with a very thick, very creamy, lasting white head. I had never opened such an artificially carbonated Draught-Flow can before, it was quite an interesting experience. Got to give this a 5 for appearance. The aroma is slightly blocked inside the glass due to the uncompromising head. Able to discern some strong malts in the aroma though, somewhat like a märzen. Quite disappointing watery flavor, with a definite malt dominance. Also a disappointing texture, would have expected much more creamyness, given the appearance. Still not bad though. Decent session ale and great fun to pour.

Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Serving: 1 pt. can. It pours a nice golden color with a huge creamy head thanks to all of that nitrogen. Also thanks to the nitrogen, there is a very muted nose. I get some slight fruity notes, but not much else. The flavor is very metallic with the same fruit notes carrying from the nose. Mild and kind of dead on the tongue. I can’t say this is a very enjoyable brew. It lacks flavor, body, and mouthfeel. Shoot for a better bitter.

Picked up a 4 pack because the label intrigued me. Not a big fan of english ales but wanted to give it a shot. Pours a golden hue with a very nice thick head produced by the widget. That, however, is where the goodness ends. Little aroma..almost a sanatary smell to it.. the hit to the palate is soft, without presence and lacking the little umph I thought it might have.. low carbination is fine but the malts have to make an appearance and they do not here.. No real flavor, maybe a slight bitterness but well underdeveloped.. Wish I hadnt been swayed by the yellow cans.... wont buy again

One pint can poured into a pint glass. Pours a beautiful golden color with a gorgeous creamy white head. It has almost no aroma at all. It has a very creamy taste, a slight metallic and citrus taste and a fairly strong vegetable and bread taste. This beer was a good bit different from what I’ve been drinking and was drinkable but not the best. I drink this one again but am not sure that I will.

Papillon (280) - Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 15, 2010
440 mL Can. Gold-amber body with a rich creamy white head that wants to cling all over the glass, leaving a set of foamy ribs down the glass as it is sipped. Something about the aroma stings the nose like those bees on the label: a combination of spoiled fruit, cider, and moldy citrus fruits offsets the malts and hint of honey -whatever it is, it’s not that pleasant. I can just imagine the fruit flies swarming all over whatever it is The flavor is better than the smell but there is still this bitter-astringent sharpness about it that I don’t care for. I remain convinced that an unpasteurized bottle-conditioned version would offer the taster a completely different experience. If there was a tune to match this beer, I’d vote for Hall & Oates’ Maneater: ooh the beauty is there but a beast is in the heart.

Pint can. Aroma of honey, cheap adjunct grains. The visuals produced by these draught widget cans are pretty cool. It looks like volcano smoke building in the glass. Once the widget releases all of its air, the beer is left with a nice thick head and a deep gold hue. Taste is sweet, then bitter. Has an unpleasant metallic taste. I really cannot stand these low-carbonated beers. Tastes as flat as can be. Not my cup of tea. The best part of the beer is the appearance. But what good is appearance if the beer tastes terrible?

Pint can. Clear yellow with very creamy white head. Aroma of cereal, bread and light caramel. Light bodied and refreshing though very creamy and breadlike. Light bitter finish.
