rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Mar 5, 2008 Draft at a local Irish pub. Not a bad brew, very pale tan appearance with large creamy head. Aroma was somewhat lacking. Flavor was kind of flat but I guess thats what they are going for. Palate was pretty smooth and overall a decent drink if you want something that wont overpower you with taste. TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Mar 5, 2008 Light honey color with a full frothy head! Doesnt really smell like to much, or taste like anything either except for its small bitter finish. To sum it up its a blonde Guinness! DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 4, 2008 1st thing is the unusualness of the plastic piece in the can. It’s used to maintain the look of the beer, however a beer in a can is enough to really challenge it’s integrity, so it’s weird. It’s aroma is minor. It’s appearance is inviting, making you want to sample this brew. It’s flavor is bitter as expected, but not really delightful. It’s feel is bitter, but if you know enought to buy boddington you know that’s part and parcel. It is an experience, probaly much better on tap spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA Mar 3, 2008 Amazing pour. Poured from the pint can into a clear beer glass. The head started about 4 inches high and slowly subsided. The head becomes the creamiest white I’ve ever seen. The aroma is sweet and floral.
First taste was a bit light then the nice bitter hops in the finish. Nice, slightly sweet maltiness with long lasting mild bitterness. The palate is smooth and creamy. I could drink a barrel of this tasty brew but I am partial to Engish beers anyway. Drink this as the first beer of the day and I think you’ll enjoy it. Provided you aren’t a hop-head and you enjoy the English understated high quality beer making. Once the head subsides the typical Bud drinker would say it had gone "flat". I like the English style of minimal carbonation. KDorgan12 (163), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Mar 3, 2008 Draft-Memphis. Dense, white, creamy head that does not disipate. Very bitter finish. A great session beer. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Mar 1, 2008 On tap. pours golden with a great white head. Creamy. Aroma is a lot of malt and not much else. The malts and hops don’t mix well too much malt, and the hops createa bad spice flavor. I definately did not like this at all. LouieDog40oz (28), Germantown, Maryland, USA Feb 26, 2008 You guys need to take this for what it is. Yes there are numerous British ales that are exceptionally better but this is a smooth creamy ale that hits the spot when poured correctly, which is key. The head of this beer makes or breaks it. When poured correctly it has a creamy froth that rises to the top to form an amazing head that is usually about an inch thick. I’m not saying its the best but I feel people are knocking it for not understanding the beer. Earlier Rating: 2/26/2008 Total Score: 3.3 You guys need to take this for what it is. The head is super creamy, like cool whip. Great refreshing session beer. Nose - clean and refreshing, slightly flowery and nutty. Taste - very smooth and crisp and creamy, slightly bitter finish but not at all overpowering that fades out very nicely. overall- nothing too special, yet one of the best session beers. would love to try this on tap.
