3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ttrunk (27) - California, USA - NOV 3, 2011
This has a good color and head. It goes down smooth. It is available at many different locations.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 rangerred (205) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - NOV 1, 2011
Served in a pint glass.
Appearance is typical of nitro beers. Cascading carbonation leading to a puffy white head. The beer is a clear amber.
Smell is sweet and grainy and slightly lemony. There is definitely an adjunct-like smell that is not very appealing.
The taste is a lemony sourness with a sharp bitter finish. As the beer warms closer to cellar temperature the flavor improves dramatically with much more grain becoming apparent.
Overall this beer is ok but is far from being a good example of an english ale. Make sure this beer isn’t drank ice cold as it is much more enjoyable at a warmer temperature.

Gold body, near white head. Light floral hops and bread on the nose. Bready malt, grassy hops, and a bit of dough in the flavor. Thin body with little carbonation.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Edmoe (226) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 18, 2011
Nice amber pour with thick creamy head. Good lacing. Beery aroma with subtle malt sweetness and even subtler hops. Flavor is very light but inoffensive and clean. Body is very thin but velvety. A very attractive beer that is very easy to drink. A near perfect session beer.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 seymour (608) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Tasted pint can into imperial pint glass at Pop’s Blue Moon bar in St Louis, Missouri, USA. Poured a clear, deep golden color with billowing white head, thanks to the nitrogen widget. Cool gimmick, I like the vigorous bubbling. Appetizing aroma of a classic English grainbill, some hops aroma. Hops bitterness is true-to-style. Other reviewers who claim Boddingtons Pub Ale isn’t bitter are unfairly comparing it to IPAs and hyper-hopped American Pale Ales. This is an evolutionary relic, and just what an English Pub Bitter should be. Bready taste, malty sweetness balanced by earthy English hops, slightly more residual bitterness than sweetness, mildly fruity ale yeast esters. Very refreshing with a dry, cool, crisp aftertaste. Good stuff.

Wasn’t getting much bitter from this. Maybe some. Big frothy head and pillowy feel in the mouth. Nice enough beer would have it again.

This has DEFINITELY been one of the most interesting brews I’ve tried in a long, long time! This brew pours up a gorgeous copper colored body and it’s the pour that’s truly, well, intoxicating!! As this brew is being poured it is immediately clouded up from the bottom of the glass to the top of the liquid. And then suddenly the head begins rolling up and the body of the brew clears off revealing its rich dark color. The head of this brew is absolutely the best I’ve seen and tasted; ever! Foamy, thick, and rich. And it stays with the brew long after the liquid is gone! Scents of honeycomb and warm bread are detected right off the bat. Not too heavy, not too light; just right. Flavors of a well balanced set of malts and hops; maybe a little bit of lemon grass there at the end. The body of this brew is so smooth and creamy and there’s not a lot of carbonation going on which makes for an easy brew to drink and not get filled up too quickly.
