I used to love this stuff - the widget in the can that generates a small-bubbled, creamy head, the aura of English pub authenticity. But now that I am a Ratebeerian, it seems mediocre. Not bad, just fairly standard for a light bitter. Mellow taste of light grain and mild hops. Pretty weak, but flavorful enough. Boddington’s is not worth seeking out, but it is still superior to most lagers.

pint can-taste starts off nice and creamy but quickly falls to a watery swallow, some sweet malts present but hops must still be in england somewhere...it is a smooth drinkable beer but i was left searching for some character or flavor that never showed..nice appearence and palate however..ok

Very smooth and creamy. Starts quite interesting in the mouth but dies in to a watery creamy nothingness. Easy to drink, but I wouldn’t want too many of these. Got it 30 % off cos the can had been dropped. WOuldn’t pay full price. I’ll stick with London Pride or Youngs

The widget (sorry, Guinness) gave this one a tremendously large foamy white head, and the colour was a nice solid gold. There was almost no aroma, maybe a miniscule hint of malt. Taste was pleasant but it felt somewhat watery.

Tap @ Moon & Sixpence, clear light amber. This beer is thin and kind of watery but malty sweet. Good for a long session but that’s about it.

1 pint can. Poured clear orange-tinted golden with a creamy cap of nitro head. The aroma picked up wet grainy notes and floral hoppage paired with a pinch of honey and dry yeast.. kind of sticky and bland. The flavor had honey and caramel maltage at the core, showing signs of life in the form of spicy floral and earthy bitterness on the edges.. grainy character joined the honey on the back and rode through the short-ish finish. Light bodied with a sweet overall complexion on the palate.. bitterness was soft and well-balanced.. this was very easy to drink.

In a can....duh! Great head. The best thing about this beer is definately it’s mouthfeel. Very creamy. Aroma is decent; bread and some fruit. Flavor is bland. Needs more carbonation. I know it’s probably closer to a cask ale in that way, but I like fizz in my beer. The finish is so metallic I’m not sure I’ll be able to drink the other three.
