Nice amberish colour, "pale gold" I guess it’s called. Really nice head, that’s not all that think but very dense for what’s there (and it lasts for a pretty long time). Very smooth creamy taste, hints of fruits, banana being the most prominent. Low carbonation which I liked. As for now I’m really impressed!

Creamy head due to the N2 golden color, creamy taste, but not a whole lot of flavor. Slight hoppiness. Like it says on the the can serve at 41 degrees, if you serve it fridge temp you won’t taste a thing.

Can. Golden colour with a creamy head. Quite tasteless beer. What to write, hmm. Watery.

The first of seven brews sampled at Cellar LexLarp in St Paul. History- Boddington goes back to 1778 as it was known as the Strangeways Brewery, founded by Thomas Caister and Thomas Fry. The brewery was purchased by Henry Boddington in 1853 unit it was acquired by Whitbread in 1989 (InBev purchased Whitbread in 2000). Original brewery closed in Feb 2005 and now contract brewed by Hyde’s Brewery in Manchester, UK. Pours a golden lager style brew with the nitrogen giving a creamy white head. Aroma of floral hops and some grainy malt. Taste is clean, crisp, a grainy barley malt. Finish a clean with some dry herbal hops. Very good for a macro brewer.

To be honest it’s not a complex brew... but for some reason I like it... alot! Going against the grain here. The nose is slightly sweet and slightly floral, with maybe a hint of caramel. Appearance is decent mostly due to the head created by nitrogen. It strikes a good balance between light malt sweetness and bitterness. About what you expect from an OB beer. It’s designed to be drinkable, and is. Very clean aftertaste/palate which cleans up with a nice mild bittering. I know I’m rating this way higher than it probably deserves. I’ve pointed out all that is good about the beer, but there just isn’t anything to find as offensive!

Creamy head, yellow in color. A good quaff of a beer. Some spicing and lots of light malts which are nice. Overall, however, very tame and low aroma/flavor, even on draught.

16 ounce can. Can’t believe I haven’t rated this one yet. Aroma is lightly sweet, with a bit of florial hoppiness, too. I also detected some grainy, biscuity maltiness. All in all, a pretty faint aroma that isn’t overly impressive. The nitrogen widget provides a very attractive, creamy, firm white head on top of a transparent yellow-honey colored body. Herbal, earthy, grassy hops flavors hit you to start. It becomes a bit grainy and cereal-like in the middle, but the hoppiness follows some more. Finishes a bit dry with some more of the herbal hops. This is hoppier than I expect. A fair session brew which is pretty one-dimensional.

plenty of creamy head here. not very dark but a decent beer. its also not that thick which would have helped it here.
