Creamy short head on this nice fruity bitter ale with some caramel, nice hoppiness with a nice moderate bitterness. Pretty goo beer.

A decent beer. Easily the best of the "flat bitter" range of beers, sweet tasting and cheap :)

(Keg at Bridge Bar, Heathrow Airport, London, 5 Aug) Colour is amber with a dense white head leaving lots of lacing. Nose is fruity with apricots, mandarin, mango and slighly chemical notes of butter-scotch. Taste is fruity with apricots and orange, some malt and very modest hops in the finsih. Rather artificial, like water with instant beer taste. No technical fault, but boring stuff.

Another beer that polarises opinion and I have been guilty of drinking another one to remind myself why I shouldn’t have tasted the first. Fortunately we’re talking years between sittings. It just seems to grab you by the tonsils and whirl you around it’s head for a while. Not a good accompaniment to a meal, a funeral maybe, but not a meal.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2007 Keg: Pale amber colour with a nitro-style white head. Chilled to the point where any taste disappears. Malty aroma, and sweet aftertaste. Smooth and easy to drink.

I think Boddingtons bitter is an acquired taste. I don’t mind it ; however, it is a simple beer that is not complex really. Yellow color with a hint of orange gives way to a large creamy head in a glass. This is a bitter beer with a light taste and goes down easy. Prefer this in draft than to the the Pub Ale in cans I get in the US.

Had on draft in Manchester UK (2004) Great session brew. Guinesses’ whiter cousin. Nitro. Smooth and easy as she goes.
