1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Marko (2977) - Split, CROATIA - NOV 29, 2009
Boddington’s Draught Bitter (3.5%), purchased either at teh Geoffrey’s Of London in Antibes, or at a small store near the Antibes market. Whichever the case, a cane with a widget in it. Never a sign of quality beer. Poured a slightly darker golden body witha a small, thick, creamy and persistent nitro head (woooow how original and visually pleasing. eeh). Cardboardy nose, chalky, notes of alcohol (wait what?). Empty nitro crap. Surprise surprise. Ah well, at least I got the oh so lovely head with the oh so lovely cascade effect instead of a beer that isn’t ruined by something completely unnecessary. There is, unlike with some nitro beers, some proof of something coherent being underneat that nitrogen-induced wasteland. notes of sweet honeyish maltiness (kinda nice too) pop up and they aren’t all that bad, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is extremely unimpressive.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bsjay (54) - Oregon, USA - OCT 27, 2009
This functions more like a cream ale (thanks to the absurdly powerful, widget induced head) and is best utilized as an alternative to bland macro-beers, which are likely to overpower the selection where you found this can. If a better selection is present, by all means indulge.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 lithilorn (235) - Covilhã, PORTUGAL - OCT 17, 2009
Medium amber body and creamy white head. Light caramel and malt aroma with a little hops. Sweet flavor and a little bitter in the finish, but a very little. Average beer, but drinkable.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 Gary (1013) - London and Rochester, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2009
Nito or Can this is lame. A shaving foam head . Tastes of h20 and stale caramel . Widgets are for lame-arses.
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sound67 (223) - Offenbach, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2009 440ml can, as shown. This is one of those cans (like Guiness Draught) that comes with a plastic ball inside to keep the texture smooth, mellow. And it works: Poured into the glass it’s all foam first, then after it settles produces a small, but creamy and persistent head, and the carbonation is almost non-existent (despite the crafty phhhfffft it made when opening the can). This really feels like an on-tap beer. On the downside, there is almost no aroma (faint citrus and malt), the taste is rather bland, too. A little hop, a little malt, and a smooth, not-very-bitter-ish finish. Drinks very quickly, should be an easy-going on tap pint at your local pub. But very simple, and very plain.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 gary07734 (500) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2009 Pours blonde and creamy, nothing much in the aroma. Taste is midly bitter, creamy and watery, lacking in anything else. Not very good.
1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Herkybird (21) - YORK, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2009
The can probably tastes better than the beer in it. Like bland, tasteless shaving foam; not unpleasant but offers no obvious reason to drink it. No real characteristics. The cask version is much superior.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gservo (23) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 6, 2009
This is a Nostalgic beer for me, good times good memories in New York , the Nitro head , decent aroma, and a HIGH Drink-ability, if you drink it slow and let it warm up a little as you drink you get a decent ale to drink
