A partnership between Bodebrown and US brewery Stone Brewing, Cacau IPA is a beer awarded as the best of style in Brazil in 2013 & 2014. It combines masterfully characteristics of traditional english India Pale Ale with Brazilian cocoa touches in a "nibs" during boiling and maturation. With strong aromas, has an average bitterness and caramel notes with citrus hops in a drink of 6.1% of alcohol content. It was the first Brazilian IPA beer to rely on the addition of cocoa.

É da casa: sempre fresca e preço justo. A versão TAP é imbatível.

Hazy light tan. Aroma is older, stale hops and chewy malts. But the cacao really shows up on the palate. It’s balanced with some nice chocolate sweetness and rich, chewy earthy bitterness. Ends up being a pretty nice beer, despite the uninspiring aroma.

Taste on tap at the brewery, presented very aromatic (without being cloying), medium-bodied , medium-high bitterness with subtle cocoa touch.

On tap at Delirium Cafe. Amber with persistent white creamy head. Fantastic sweet, chocolate, caramel aroma. Some citric hops too. Taste is sweet caramel, balanced by a light-medium bitterness. Medium body. Not the usual IPA, amazing brew.

Orange color, hazed, thick white head, nice lacing. Caramel malts with candy sugar on top with heavy bitter hops and a leftover of burnt cocoa. Average carbonation full heavy body creamy texture. Bitter finish. Interesting.

Pours dark blonde, with a good white head. Smell is that f white chocolate- buttery and all - plus some bitterness. taste is likewise. Storng cacao taste, in between milkchocolate and white chocolate ( white, building up to milk ) , over a medium-bitter backbone. Certainly interesting ! If this beer were regularly optainable for me, I don’t think I would drink it often though, and I can clearly see how people can strongly dislike this. But for now and than, this unique ( to me ) combo might just be the thing you’re after. And personally, I like it ! The only thing I kinda dislike is the weird sweetness.. Is it the cacao? Is it a special Brazilian ingredient ? Is it because of the combo ?
