Had this at Chris O’s pre GBBF tasting, 02-08-08 cheers for a wonderful day Chris Pours very clear and almost chesnut in colour. The nose has really softened out over the years, aroma had more than a nod to diluted malt whisky with some sweetness. Some almonds in the mouth along with a touch of icing sugar. I used to drink this regularly in the late eighties and early nineties as it was my most local brewery so it was a great and welcome surprise to see Steve bring a bottle of this along , cheers Steve. This actually tasted better than in the pub, certainly in the last few years of its life as a brewpub, as in the last few years of its existence the quality and consistency of Bodicote beers slipped somewhat.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Pre GBBF Tasting
Thanks to Steve for this 15 year old rarity. Red amber colour with the head not surviving. Kinda like an old man who has lost his hair. Sadly this has decended into the grips of petrol. Lots of caramel, the hops are totally gone but the aged flavours of the malt still work pretty well. I would never have this to have expected this long actually. Impressed.

1993. Clear amber with tiny short lasting head. Sweet aroma with honney and prunes. Sweet flavor that disapoints a bit. Not as strong as the aroma.

Cask Conditioned at Plough, Bodicote. This mid brown beer is the most popular of the Bodicote Beers. Named after the house number of the Pub this is a strongly flavoured bitter with plenty of dry hop quality. Sharp malt flavours complement the overall taste. Jim has been brewing at the pub since 1982 and has a regular custom from many appreciative locals.
