Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Hazy amber, brief head. Evident banana aroma. Sweet and bready nice wonderfully soft and sparkling mouthfeel. Mild and inviting with spun sugar and caramel as well as orange and almondy yeast. An usassuming beer that don’t stick out anywhere, but shows high quality in every aspect. A laid back beer of the type I’d like to find in a countryside brewery to just sit an anjoy. Though it’s not the typical beer that sticks out in a crowd of RIS and DIPA it was my favourite beer of the vast amount of beers we emptied in the Finnish woods during teh weekend of Petalax Beer Festival.

Bottle at Delirium Café, Brussels. Pours amber coloured with a nice lasting egg white head. Fresh and fruity aroma with notes of caramel, yeast, cereal, nuts and dried fruit. Sweet and balanced flavour with notes of chocolate, sweet malt, toffee, yeast, dried fruit and spice. Great brew!

14/IV/2012 - 33cl bottle from Être Gourmet website @ home - BBE: 2010 (2012-371)

Note: GUSHER warning!

Cloudy red brown beer, big aery off-white head, unstable. Aroma: oranges, very fruity, sugary, bit musty. MF: low to no carbon, medium body, very creamy soft texture. Taste: bit sweet, orange, ice cream, vanilla, some spices, cloves, coriander, more vanilla. Aftertaste: sweet dough, cinnamon. Not bad at all! And yeah, I know, it’s probably because of the age, but hey, who cares, right?

DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2008
Hazing murky amber collared with white. Dribble-making, hop-led snout humming with all manner of gelatinous citrussy penny chews, undissolved Rowntree’s pineapple, lemon and lime jelly cubes, alcohol, peppery spice, esters, marmalade ,peaty malt hints. Leaning more towards conifer as it warms Totally driven by American hop juiciness but still elusively Belgian and dustily spiced, presumably with the usual suspects- coriander and orange peel. Wouldn’t surprise me if cumin or juniper was in there. Seriously fat and humming, but hugely swiggable at 6.5% because of that hop savouriness, crisp pine and citrus keeping the spicerack and malt sweetness in check. Tangy, thick-bodied, spicy without perfuminess. Pine and pale malty dry roasted nut hints. Skilful, integrated, impressive...

(Bottled, 0.75l) Very hazy amber with a small head. Aroma of anise, licorice, raspberry, banana fruitiness, some yeast. Anise-licoricey, slightly acidic flavor with caramely malt, toffee, medium bitterness. Some alcohol present. Medium-bodied, low carbonation. A sweet, but quite enjoyable and reasonably complex Belgian ale.
