High carbonation xibalba89 (146), New York, New York, USA Dec 19, 2008 Pours a hazy reddish brown with a good tan head. Aroma has lots of banana and spices... like a spiced Aventinus. Very malty, too. Flavor is more of the same, lots of malt and spice. A well made xmas beer. Enjoyit (1197), Vadum, Denmark Dec 9, 2008 Clear brown of color with a beige head. An aroma of cherry, fruits, spice, weak sweets and toffee. A flavor spice, toffee, caramel and weak alcoholic. Grovlam (3420), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 7, 2008 Bottle. Labeled Santa-Bee. Large creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Muddy dark brown color. Aroma of sweet almond, toasted malt, caramel, fruit, citrus and mild chocolate. Over the palate came heavy sweet notes of caramel, fruit, toasted malt and again chocolate. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor with maybe a twist of acidic and bitterness in there. Lingering caramel, toasted malt and mild chocolate finish. I love it even if it was quite sweet. JayBaxter (364), Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Nov 20, 2008 BrugsBierFestival - Dark brown with small head that fades to nothing, sweet jammy aroma and a sweet caramel spicy taste.
