3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Special Brews in Lynwood, WA. Pours gold with a white head. Fruit ester aromas. Like fruits de bois with a nhint of banana. Flavor is a bit sweet, but the esters and yeast seem appropiate. Pretty tasty and drinkable tripel.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2015 Tasted as Boelens Tripel Klok, which is the ’new’ name of this brew since 2009 (so the name above needs updating). Not entirely the same recipe either: this version has more hoppiness than the old version. Thick, almost rocky, yellowish white head, hazy peach blonde colour. Aroma of peaches, sweet honey, field flowers, vanilla, perhaps some iron, cake. Soft fruity onset, some citrus freshness, apple, smooth and medium thick mouthfeel, soft and gentle, finishing in a floral hop bitterishness through which the malt sweetness also lingers. Well-balanced, but a bit cliché.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lots of citrus fruit in the nose at first. Nice orange pour with great foam head. Good carbonation. Citrus goes to malt, sugar, bitters, some corn flakes, leaves and spices. Long finish which is mostly dry and sweet, with some alcohol after a while but not much. Enjoyable tripel
