Egon (310), Gothenburg, Sweden Aug 23, 2006 Sweet and heavy. Dark brown in colour with a white foam. Tastes of caramel, bread and alcohol. Maybe good to have to fat christmas food? Long aftertaste.
fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Mar 31, 2008 Draught @ Zythos Bier Festival 2008, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Alc. 8.5%. Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate to light heavy yeasty, earth, dust, honey or sugar, spicy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (010308) yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 8, 2008 ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours dark brown with a lacing tan head. Light caramel malt aroma. Flavour is light fruity with a medium sweet caramel malt flavour. Light bitterness and subdued spice note. CapedBrewsader (194), Brasschaat, Belgium Mar 6, 2008 ZBF 2008: Hazy dark brown with red edges and a small off-white head. Roast, honey, and brown sugar. The roast and sugars are very nicely balanced. The flavor is quite sweet but the roast helps to keep just under syrupy feeling. Some cherry that at points comes across as artificial cherry flavoring. Some tea leaves in the long cherry and sugar finish with a drop of honey. The low CO2 makes this beer seem too sweet by the time you get to the bottom of the glass. Bontus (67), Belgium Mar 2, 2008 Zythos bierfest.
