Huge, collapsing yellowish head over slightly hazed, orange-golden beer. Pharmaceutical, bit sulphury nose, spiced with... fennel, aniseed, carraway...? Sharp, aggressive menthol/aniseed flavour; citruspeel (especially retronasal). Sharp, near astringent MF, accentuated by the heavy carbonation. Bit oily texture underneath. Not my cuppa tea. The aggressive spicing seems to get milder in time, (or adaptation), but all the same, it’s definitely overdone, IMO.

33cl, as Jezuwiet Tripel, new brew Anno 2010, with star anise, from De Bierloods Adegem, complex brew, sweet/spicy and slightly fruity, heavy, yet balanced, cloudy, small head, nice brew

Light hazy golden beer, white head. Aroma of a spicy tripel, the star anise gives quite a nice tone to it. Anise, light pepper, malts, fruity hops, cloves, light orange peel and yeast. Flavour medium sweet, light bitter, fruity with anise tones. Medium dry finish. Not bad at all.

Nice light and refreshing. Some bitterness. Decent carbonation. Pretty nice.

Bottle (33 cl) from Etre Gourmet. Hazy amber, medium white head. Strange perfumy, spicy, and earthy aroma. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with low to medium bitterness.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2011 Bottle from the brewery. "Limited edition". Pours golden, quite hazy. Firm white head. Spicy and yeasty nose, coriander. Bit of an orange marmelade aroma. Not bad. Alas not better than the original.
