Currently drinking while typing. I have had this brew in the past and it has been different when opening everytime, I had one gusher, one which popped loudly and this one which quietly fizzled. A nice aroma once poured, it has yeast, bread, sweet Danish breads, toffee malts, sugars, alcohol and subtle fruits. Looks a lovely golden orange hazed brew with a nice white creamy head which left pretty lacing on the glass. The taste is one I love alot, full breads, dough, yeast, savoury sugars, caramelled malts, ice cream and a well masked alcohol note with a very light hop note on the aftertaste. Feels lovely in the mouth maybe could do with being a tiny bit more carbonated but not in any way bad in terms of mouth feel. Such a great beer, quite pricey but so damn worth it!

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2007 Bottle. Beautiful cloudy copper-amber with active carbonation up to a huge white head. Nose is slightly acidic with peach and apple notes and some bready aromas deeper down. Lots of spice up front folds into a balance of fruit, sour yeast flavors, and alcohol. Balanced and lovely flavor, sweet finish. Palate is a bit harsh at first but smooths out nicely. Head retention is perfect and leaves the most beautiful lacing.

Bottle 33 cl. Amber golden with yeasty impurities. Great white head. Very malty, very sweet with a medium body. Yeast, alcohol and fruit in the aroma. Big complex taste with sweetness. Like it.

Bottled at Monks Café, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy pale amber colour with a rich lively white foam. Yeasty aroma with solid notes of crackers, mandarin and cookies with touches of leafy hops and and candid sugar. Full and firm body with notes of of oranges, cookies, nectarines, herbs, white bread, vanilla and mild pepper. Long well-balanced finish of of cookies, mandarin, mild pepper and orangey hops. Bold, yet elegant. Me like!

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, orange, mandarin and spicy hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of apricots, orange, tropical fruit and a generous floral, citrussy, spicy bitterness in a warming finish. Almost full body, fairly sweet, with soft carbonation. Excellent balance makes it deceptively drinkable for its strength. Lovely triple with a grassy, citric, almost saison like character. Very nice.

Very light, slightly carbonic nose, but hidden very nicely. Clear, orange/amber. Big, white head that collapses relatively slowly, leaving nice lice all the way down the glass. Big and sweet, but not too hot (particularly surprisingly for that big 9.5% lurking in the background). Wow. Full-bodied and smooth. The nose gets sweeter as it warms up with some ethanol becoming more evident, but it becomes ever more well-balanced and the warming effect of the alcohol becomes apparent. There’s definitely some spiciness back there too, but probably a yeast character -- a pleasant effect for bottom-of-the-bottle drinkers who are rewarded with a pleasant nuttiness. Ultimately, very clean, well-balance and tending toward sweet, and quite enjoyable ... but don’t try pounding this one ... it DESERVES sipping.

Cloudy light amber color, big creamy head. Strong malt aroma, light alcohol, light coriander, bitter honey. Very good malty body, lacking just some fruitness. Unluckly the palate is quite ordinary. A very good and drinkable one, for the lovers of Belgian Strong Ales, but not original.
