Surprisingly restrained and subtle. Yeasty fruit nose. Good mouthful of sweet fruit with a following bitterness. Beautifully balanced. The alcohol is used to give a generous mouthfeel, and doesn't otherwise intrude. A well made and very tasty beer.

Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, fully lasting. Body is murky medium brown, dense particles of all sizes, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (nutty, toasted dark bread, caramel, milk chocolate), with notes of cask wood, toffee, light note of alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Quite nice.

Dark brown beer, quite good flavour, but I didn’t noticed any palate at all

Kåstå (1221) - Mol, BELGIUM - AUG 22, 2002
Dark blond with a big head. Very faint aroma, vaguely hoppish. Taste: raisins, tobacco, hop and some flowers. Well balanced. An odd, interesting beer. The 9.5% is well covered. There is a burnt taste to the aftertaste.

OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 22, 2002
Clear amber with very large lasting head and some sporadic lace. Practically no discerenable aroma when cold. Very faint floral hops and some alcohol aroma as it warms up. Medium bodied. Smokey burnt sugar dried fruit flavoured light carbonated and tangy start. Medium bitter middle and light smoked caramel bitter acoholic whiskeyish finish. Nice enough but lacks depth.

This one is a nice one, but not excessive, it’s a bit too weak, but it’s ok.

Fruity strawberry aroma. Darm brown, nice off-white head with good lacing. Mainly sweet, light roasted, hops, spices. More hop bitter finish. It takes some time but after a while it starts burning your throat.
