330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours chestnut brown with decent off-white head. Taste is on the sweeter side of things with fruitcake, warming alcohol and a slight spiciness coming through. A delicious beer!

33 cl. swing top bottle @ home, gift from Hilde. Dark brown with an off-white head. Malty nose with some dark fruits. I don’t really know why this isn’t listed as an abbey dubbel because it is a typical dubbel, albeit a bit more spicy than the average one.

2007 bottle. Pours a hazy brown with minimal head or lacing. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruits, caramel sweetness. Taste is a big sweet malt bomb, caramel and chocolate, barely any yeast esters remain. Warmth in your throat and all the way down to your belly, big and sweet, but nice.

350 mL bottle. Dark - looks like a dubel. lovely aroma - lots of dates. Reminiscent of Abbaye des Rocs, but more one dimensional. The flavour is good, but not as appealing as the aroma. There is an interesting note of spice on the top of the mouth at the end. Alcohol is very (too?) well hidden. Nice beer.

Pours a dark orange beer with a good tan head. Smells sweet, fruity, malts and herbs. Tastes licorice, malts, dried fruits. Average carbo, medium body and a sticky texture.

Deep dark brown, big beige head. Hoppy aroma. Taste is nicely bitter and spicy, on a roasted and sweet malty bed. High alcohol grade is well disguised. Medium carbonation, medium body.

330 ml bottle nicely printed , Appearance: deep red brown with quite clear body, with a 3 fingers sized head, with low retention and leaving light lacing on the glass Aroma of caramel,, fruit cake, syrup, light nuts. Taste is sweet, (allthough slightly less as the aroma.), taste palate follows the sweet aroma and there is some spicyness trying to get through. In the finish there is luckilly some bitternesh, but also a bit harshboozyness (Not burning alcohol), but the alcohol boosts the sweetness too much. Above average syrupy bodr, good carbonation, sticky palate. Too sweet and sugary for me I had a had time finishing this.
