Bottle (from Bitter Virtue). Initial aroma is a bit like vomit tinged with iron bru. Thankfully this doesnt last long. Sweet and fruity with a little spice and zesty tartness keeps it drinkable. Despite the shaky start not bad.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2012
33cl Brown bottle, with one week left before its best before date (31st Jan 2010). Poured into a stemmed tulip ’Corsendonk’ glass.
Plenty of sediment in the bottle, managed to pour the beer without it getting into the glass. The beer was therefore a misty golden yellow in colour, good white head on top. Loads of bubbles rising through the brew.
Sweet and sour aromas, some toffee esters, yeast also within the smell.
Thetaste is a blend of many flavours, a toffee sweetness at first, mixed with some caramel. Then a steadying yeast and spice combination which turns the beer into a more interesting prospect altogether.
A very nice beer indeed, will look for it again when I next visit Belgium.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 wyzzywyz22 (1525) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAR 19, 2009
Bottle, Jan’s, Stoke Newington, London. Poured an amber colour with an off white dissipating head. Sickly sweet aroma which permeated into the flavour; which was caramel malt heavy mixed with some canned fruit and yeast notes. Definite acidic tinge to this and as a consequence not hugely enjoyable really.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lachesis (758) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - JUL 12, 2005
Beer with a nice orange color and with an airy ivory colored head. The aroma is light malty with faint touches of butter caramel, dried apricots, some candi sugar and some sweet spices. Also a faint hoppyness in the nose. Taste is slight drier than expected. It has a good carbonation and a nice lively mouthfeel. On the pallet there are hints is peach-pit, some nut-skin, malts, white bread and corn flowers. The afthertaste turns dry and ends with a flowery and slight hoppy finish.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Kunstemaecker (27) - Steenkerke, BELGIUM - MAY 9, 2011
A regular abbey style beer. It reminds me of Leffe Blond somewhat and I don’t like Leffe very much.
