Comments: Very strong on the orange. Smooth and complex Christmas ale with little oxidation despite its advanced age.

Bottled, 750ml champagne-corked. (#38) Lightly unclear, reddish brown with an ok beige head. Cellar, mould, sweetness, dried fruit, chocolate and cocoa in the aroma. The flavor is sweet, with mould, cellar, chocolate and cocoa. Medium to full body and a long finish. I would like the orange to be more pronounced, but it is a nice beer anyhow. It is a pity the batch-sizes are so small. (061124)

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is dry cellar notes. Flavour is sweet, dry, cellar notes, hop, malt, fruit, cacao.

750 ml champagne bottle. Dark reddish body with a brown head. Acidulous aroma with a fusty character. Complex flavor, sweet malt, spices, caramel, orange. Long good finish. A very pleasant beer.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2006 [Bøgedal nr. 38] A hazy deep red beer with a nice brown head. The aroma is sweet and nicely hoppy with a light touch of oranges. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, oranges, and caramel.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 Bottled (38): Dark red/brown coloured. Small light brown head. Aroma of spices, fruits and light caramel. Has some vague roasty notes. Flavour is caramelly, fruity and is spices. Quite smooth and easy to drink. Light herbal notes are present. Medium bodied. Ends on a fruity bitter note. Quite good christmasbeer.

Dark brown color with ruby shades. The aroma is slightly herbal, with some caramel. Medium body, some malt, caramel, spices; maybe also the orange peels… Quite pleasant Christmas beer.

75 cl bottle. Dark brown colour with a little head. Fruity aroma with notes of spices and caramel. Nice smooth flavour of caramel, toffee, sweet maltness and some spices too.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Nr. 38 Pours a hazy mahogany with a reddish hue and a creamy, light brown head. Lightly sweet, roasted, malty nose. Quite a full body, slightly sweet, roasted malt with accents of chocolate. Vague burned edge. Light bitterness in the finish. I don’t really pick up the added oranges. A very pleasant and harmonious brew. 010506

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy brown. Taste is good and spicy. Good palate.
