COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as Bøgedal nr. 87.
Dark and bitter. Farve dyb brun.

Bottle at Kobenhavnske Oldage, May 2006. [As Nr 48]. Toffee and butterscotch aroma. Lots of malt but it seemed a bit raw. Some sweet fruit. This beer didn’t taste ready to me. Perhaps they need a bit of bottle age? Default score.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with fully lasting light brown head. Malt and huge levels of hops in both aroma and flavor. Initially slightly sweet flavor but finishes off very bitter and dry. Exelent beer for hops-lovers.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2006 [Bøgedal nr. 48] A reddish brown beer with a huge fluffy brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, spices, and hints of wood. The flavor is quite sweet with strong notes of spiced caramel combined with desert wine, like You’d find in Italian deserts, in the end in turns more towards cocoa powder, and roasted malt, but still with the sweetness in the background. The mouthfeel is very smooth and quite vinous. The end is just a bit dry. Sampled in September 2006, around 7 months after bottling, so it has had time to mature.

Bottle@Københavnske Øldage. Sweet butterscotch and caramel, with some roasted malt. There is a nice pleasant flavour to this one, which is ruined by the butterscotch.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2007 Bottled. (#48) 75cl champagne-cork. Cph Beerfestival. Dark amber with a huge dense, beige head. Roasted malt and hops in the aroma. Malty flavor with a light roastiness and some alcohol. Full-bodied and quite sweet. It has a dry finish with coffee-notes. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3(060519)

Rerate: Bottle, 75 cl corked. (#87) Unclear, brown pour with a nice, beige head. It was well carbonated, hence volcano-ing out of the bottle. Caramel, citrusy and piney hops in the aroma. The flavor has nice hops balancing the sweetness, and some spicyness in addition. Full body, with a little astringecy from the hops. Another lovely beer from Bøgedal. (rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7) Chosing to use the old rating, partially due to hating the use of batch-numbers instead of beer-names. (070601)
