3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle No. 145:   Musty nose and very musty on the tongue. Basement galore.   Muted spices on the tongue.   Moderate sweetness.   Plain, but clean.   Dark, sudsy white head.   Good, but a little too plain.   Dominant factor is its mustiness.   Yep, seems a christmasy type spice ale... One musty spice ale.   Thanks for sharing Clint!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml from stevefinny on BA - thanks! Nice dark pour, thick and silky with a bit of chalk on the finish. Tastes like a grainy, slightly funky brown (sorta like a Belgian porter if that makes sense, or a tweaked Madrugada) with nice hints of orange tossed in for an intriguing taste. Enjoyed it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.75 L corked bottle as Bøgedal Nr. 174. Abv 6.1%. Two fingers of big-bubbled tan head, fully diminishing. Body is translucent, ruby-hued dark brown. A scent of black currant up front, followed by toasted dark malts, Christmas spices and mild earthy and grassy hoppiness. Medium strong malt body. Sweet at first, then some peppery and slight sour tones. Vague notes of ripe oranges and red berries. Discreetly hopped. Medium full. Juicy texture. Finishes on the sweet side, malty with a sourish twist and a touch of berries. Good craftmanship, good beer.

KI=5
