PIB 2008. Pours mahogany with a small off-white head. Toasty malts and prune flavor, nutty toward the finish with a yeasty earthiness to it. Body was thin and tasted a bit oxidized, but a decent beer none the less, although didn’t stand out that much.

On tap at PIB 2008 under the name No. 103--Poured a dismal burnt sienna dark brown body with a little beige head. dark fruity, malty, brown sugar, molasses nose. spicy, sparkling, yeasty, boozy flavor. Quite good!

Bottle… Pours a murky, burnt caramel color with a small, off-white head. Malty, hearty aroma loaded with dark fruit, praline and brown sugar. Medium to full-bodied with a whole-milk mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet and malty with essences of praline, graham, dark bread and dark fruit (date, fig). Lightly sweet, minerally, dry finish. Kudos to SoLan for popping the top on this one!

Bottle @ mgumby’s : Label claims a dark ale brewed with orange peels -- I didn’t get that but the brew was delicious nonetheless. Pours a muddy brown, with BIG bubbles. Flavor is rum-soaked raisins, some other dark fruits and vanilla. Extremely dry with a wooden character.

Courtesy SoLan. Pours a murky, rich and depp brown. Aroma gives hints of date, prunes, figs, dried cherries, treacle, some spice notes. Flavor is not as sweet as I imagined, a bit savory with the fruit notes coming on strong on the finish.

Courtesy SoLan. POurs a dark brown, with a small off white head. Smells of sweet dark fruits, lots of heavy molasses, figs, and grapes. Little earthy and spicy as well. The flavor gave me alot of graham cracker, big dark fruits towards the end, and some of that earthiness to it for balance. Nice spicy bitterness was engaging in the finish and lingering aftertaste. Definitely an interesting brew.

Bottle at the RBESG08 Grand tasting. Alround rating: I managed to steal the remains off that savage bastard Jens before he poured it all out! Spicey dusty yeasty, clearly not in top nick.

Courtesy of Yespr. Dark brown, almost black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, light licorice and hints of oranges. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light licorice and light crystallized oranges. Nice and harmonic.

Sampled at OSLO’s and Guerde’s tasting courtesy of BDR (brewfiend)

Murky brown pour. Average to thin head. Flavors are smoke, some banana, raisin, and orange peel. Impressive appearance. Interesting and unique, but otherwise nothing out of this world.
