COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled as Nr. 100. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of fruit and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks Myrup.

75 cL bottle, huge thanks to Myrup/thewolf for getting this. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a collapsing light brown head. Mild caramel malt beneath a solid liqourice note and a fruity hops note. Flavour is solid bitter from hops, hardroasted malt and a dry liqourice note. Finish is much the same in a lovely solid bitter blend. Very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2010 Bottle, 75cl corked. Bought it at Bolcher & Specialiteter in Hirtshals, where the owner was kind enough to let me have a generous sample before buying it. Knew I would buy it anyway of course, but it is always nice to sample a good beer. It pours a dark, reddish brown body, quite unclear, with a beige, medium-sized head. Mocha, some coffee and hops in the aroma, a bit anonymous I think. The flavor has much the same, with dried fruits and a sour touch. Quite fullbodied, with a pleasant bitterness in the finish. Rating: 6-4-7-4-14-3.5. 071228

Bottle, 75cl corked. A reddish dark brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Dried fruits, chocolate and roasted malts on the nose. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, with flavors of chocolate, rosted malts and some dried fruits. The finish is of the lasting kind, with chocolate, dried fruits and roasted malts melting nicely together. Still lovely, even though it was past BB-date. 091127

Bottle, tasted at Bøgedal. Pours muddy brown with a small beige film head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma has a roasted feel to it, some cocoa and a little ginger. Medium body. Despite having only 6.1 % ABV, it feels a little vinious, but has a round, well-adjusted taste. There are sweet malty flavours backed by a quite bitter background. Some roasted feel and chocolate. A little sour in the finish. This brew could do with a little more time in the basement.
