COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

750 ml bottle - wow, thanks tom for bringing this out; had never heard about this before, but after drinking i will never forget; pours a rich, deep brown with thin tan head and minor lacing; leaves a oily residue on the glass; i thought the odyssey had big aromas, but this certainly topped that; thick, resinous aromas of spice, brown sugar, pepper and fruit; texture to die for as it drinks rich, smooth and creamy; just the way i like it; flavors of dank fruit, caramel, sweet fruit; drinks so smooth and soft that it just slides right down almost w/o tasting it; thanks again tom!!

750, corked, baled, and securely duct-taped for transit. Thanks, Thewolf! Wow, what an amazing little beer. Truly astonishing. Pours black with mahogany highlights. Thin grayish rim for a head. Spicey, pruney, peppery nose. Woolly, creamy body. Deliciously complex mid-palate: herbal, spicy, tree bark, earth, leaves, pepper. Soft and approachable, for all that. Insanely detailed and beautiful. And then it hits you that this beer is only 6.1%. Phenomenal.

Bottle. A dark red brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is of dusty, light roasted malt, chocolate and fruits. The taste is much the same, but with a hint of coffee. Medium body with a dry coffee finish. Quit nise!

Maria (8576) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2008
Brown/black with a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, sweetness, caramel, hints of licorice and raisin. The flavour has a light sweetness, a slightly dry citrus bitterness, notes of roasted malt, caramel, sweet licorice, fruit and in the finish the citrussy, dry bitterness is more pronounced. It’s a really nice and well-balanced beer!

Bottled. Brownish red coloured. Light brown head. Spice, orange peel and fruits in the aroma. Flavour is spiced, herbal, full of cocoa and has notes of caramel. Smooth. Is medium to full bodied. Has a cocoaish and caramelly end. Nice on top of a lot of bland danish microbrews, and Bøgedal is absolutely one of the most interesting and consistently wellbrewing small breweries in Denmark.

750 ml bottle generously shared by after4ever at Uber Tavern in Seattle. Bottle brewed June 2007. Pour is black with ruby highlights. Not much of a head, what exists is dirty white. Aroma of soft sweetness along with some really light funkiness. Taste is really full, caramel maltiness, raisin fruitiness, nice development. Nice grassy earthiness on the palate. The funkiness returns with just a hint in the finish. Really nice one, thanks for sharing this Tom.

[Sampled with the trio: Svoger, Svogergylp and Foged at EBF, 2008.] As always superb brew from Casper. Fullmalted notes of cascade and caramel in an elegant harmony, licorice, coffee, some chocolate and fruit.
