Bottled. A hazy amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and wood, as well as light notes of apples. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw and wood, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Pours cloudy dark brown with a lacy tan head. Medium body, nearly still. Earthy aroma. The taste is rather vacant.

750 ml bottle - thanks after4ever!! dark brown with thin tan head; sweet, tangy aromas; flavor falls a little flat; touch of tartness with the fruity and musky flavors; another interesting one from Bogedal

Very fruity aroma, lots of flowers and earth too. Interesting mineral kind of thing too. Somewhat muddy brown pour with thin head. Earthy flavors, dirt, light roast, some sweeter dark malts, a touch of spice too. Gritty, dirty and earthy.

Bottle, 75cl corked at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A very dark brown beer with a little reddish hue, and a minimal beige head. The aroma has a little sourish touch in the beginning, soon overpowered by vanilla, coffee and dark malts. Some vanilla too, and a little oxidation. Quite sweet flavor with roasted malt, coffee, a little vanilla and some oxidation. Also some spices in the back. Dryish and a bit thin body. Bitter finish, mostly coffee bitter. A really nice one. 750mL bottle, courtesy of after4ever. Thanks, Tom! Pours a dark cola color; light-tan head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Solid amounts of maple syrup, brown sugar, and light cocoa in the aroma; decently toasty and chewy. Medium mouthfeel: kind of a soft, cocoa and acridly mineral presence upfront; not bad, but kind of odd and lifeless and cocoa-laden; decently dry at the core, with some apple notes. Medium finish: cocoa, toasty malts; lots of dry cocoa and light spice.

75-, corked, baled, and duct-taped. Thanks, Thewolf! Murky dark amber with faint garnet highlights. Dense, creamy tan head. Neutral nose, some light cola and nut husk there. Medium, almost flat body. Not much happening on the mid-palate or finish; the wood seems to have zapped the life out of this one.

From 750 ml bottle @ EBF 2008. Black body with a beige head. Aroma is malt, coffee, vanilla, liquorices and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is roasted malt, liquorices, oak and warming alcohol. Also a hint of oxidation, but this is just OK in this brew. Excellent.

EBF2008. Dark coloured, with an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma with lots of pleasent notes, cacao, coffee, chocolate, lightly roasted. Flavor starts sweet, and finish...bitter. Soft carbonation.

Muddy brown with a lasting off-white head. Weak aroma of malt and caramel with a little vanilla. Thin malty flavour with some caramel and toffee and a hint of tannin in the finish.
