75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a collapsing mild chocolate brown head. Mild chocolate malt and slight fruity aroma. Flavour is smooth chocolate and a mild liqourice note. Nice fruity hops flavour too. The complex mix of the chocolate and hops fruity note lingerings nicely into the finish. Nice brew by all means.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Grovlam (4108) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2007
Bottle. White courtesy of yespr [Only Danish beers session @ Myrup’s, thanks for a great evening Peter] Small light brown bubbly head that mostly diminished. Muddy dark mahogany to black colour. Fair display of lacework. Aroma of toasted malt, grain and fruit. Over the palate hint of smoke, roasted malt, fruit and light coffee feel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet flavour with a hint of bitterness. Light sweet coffee finish. 5 / 3 / 6 / 3 / 14
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thewolf (8625) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 17, 2007
Bottle, bought @ the brewery. Pours a deep brown, bordering on black. Not much head, only a fine off white film on top. Aroma is mildly hoppy, some very nice subdued Cascade, lots of chocolate and slight biscuity malts and coffee. Very low carbonation. Flavour is heavy with mild roasted malts, lots of chocolate and a light tartness at the far end. Much more like a stout than any other Bøgedal has been.
