COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as Bøgedal 177, 192 and 204.

Bottled as 177. Pours almost black with a generous frothy tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, liquorice and coffee. Taste is a bit on the sweet side initially, but the lovely fresh bitternes saves this beer, very easy drinkable, and a lot of taste for such a weak abv. Oily mouthfeel, long bitter taste with a fair amount of liquorice, lovely

75cl (brygget 21/1/2015, bb07/2016) courtesy of trade by bursprak, tak skal du have. - What an experience visiting this one-man-, fully-hands-on-operated brewery was, convincing anyone that a traditional ale ecan asily transcend any modern style once the house/site character prescribes harvesting and malting all grains on-site and not using pressure pumps or pipes. - Mahogany cofffeebrown pour, decent cream cap. Smells like mild rum-doused tobacco leaves, blue grape juice, muscovado milkshake with a touch of woody (all)spice. Taste quite mild and balanced as well, adding in blue grape peel to the obvious liquorice root and muscovado espresso. Very manageable, elegant dry sweetness sealed by a modern bitterness. Less sweet and lighter in mouthfeel than expected considering the slowbrewing techniques used on the full-grain malt bill, with quite a clean yeast profile only hinting at UK mild, Cascadian Dark and Belgian ale. Suave food pairing stuff.

Bottle 75cl. @ home. [ As Bøgedal Nr. 0163 ].
Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, coffee notes, licorice, caramelized sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft. [20090217]

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting light brown head. Hazy and very dark red brown body. Roasted barley malt with cocoa and caramel aroma. Liquorice dominated relatively sweet flavor with a bit of hops bitterness though. Feels creamy and light. A bit of caramel adds to the sweetness. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste. Lovely.

It’s brown-black with a red hue and a small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, burnt sugar, light licorice and fruit. The flavour is sweet with notes of coffee, licorice, fruit, burnt sugar and the finish is nice, dry and slightly bitter. A pleasant beer!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Valkendorfsgate. This is one pricey beer, so expectations are rather high. Pours a pitch black body with a medium light brown head. Looks like a stout. Smell is, however, different: smokey leathery notes making way for ginger, pepper and herbal spiciness. Some fruit in there too, along with raisins and dark malts. Nice. Taste is very malty and deep, with some basement aromas accompanying fruity notes of sweet grapes and raisins. Complex, but with a light body and such a low ABV it’s really incredible. Solid brewing on this one.
