Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 19/5/08. Amber coloured with no head. Completely dominated by buttery diacetyl - aroma was a bit buttery but with some accompanying fruit. Flavour was butter and not much else - very thin in body. A poor effort by Boggarts.

Pours mid brown, no head. Taste is malty, some bitterness and toasted flavours, finishes very mild and a little thin. Ok but not offering much.

Light brown colour. It has an unusual (foe a mild), slightly hoppy, resinous aroma. There is some caramel and dry malt in the flavour but, without the roasted character, I found it a bit thin and dull. Overall, OK, but not too exciting. To be fair, I’ve not really been blown away by any of the light milds I’ve tried, which I feel a bit guilty about because its such a rare style these days. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston, London.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Evening Star Brighton. This is more akin to a Midlands Mild than a Northern mild, being mid brown in colour and with huge amounts of caramel in the aroma. There is also plenty of caramel in the taste as well as toffee. A nice tasty beer.
