Cask (gravity dispense) at the Pigs Ear Beer Festival, London on 6 December 2006. Deep ruby colour - not quite noir. Roasty aroma with some moist, slightly clammy malt. Sharp and fruity on the palate. Again the malt seemed a touch raw. The mouthfeel is quite clean and firm. Pleasant and chewy.

Cask@Pigs Ear BF 06. Pretty bad stout. Slightly smoeky, full of diacetyl, some ashtray, not very good at all.

Pigs Ear. Oaky porridge-like stout. Slightly sweet. Pleasant and engaging, even if not exciting or earth-shattering.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear. Black colour with ruby edges. Lasting tan head. Diacetyl and some ashtray aroma. Not that good. Some choc/coffee, ashtray on end, some toffee in that diacetyl.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Pigs Ear BF. A black beer with a nice bubbly slightly off-white coloured head. The aroma is smoky and slightly roasty. The taste is roasty and malty. Some fishy notes, and quite mild all told. Very nice.
