3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen. As ’Boggart Rum Porter’. I was drawn in by the goblin pump clip. Cola black with a small brown head, thick lacing. Aroma is chocolate and rum. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is molasses, rum, chocolate. Smooth and rounded up front, but gets a touch astringent over time and develops some annoying apple peel notes. Still decent though.

Cask at The Holy Inadequate, Etruria. A deep ruby brown colour with a foamy beige head. Aroma of plum, raisin, subtle dark rum, some chocolate and slightly nutty, like fruit & nut chocolate. Taste of raisin and other dark, dried fruits, dark rum, chocolate, subtle smoke, molasses and some coffee. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A bittersweet roastiness in the finish with a dry, woody aftertaste. An interesting beer, fruity and malty with a subtle rum flavour. I like it, went down well.

Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2013, Olympia, London Aug 2012 - Dark Brown in colour. Perfumed taste and lots of vanilla. Malty; roasty malts, chocolate, vanilla. Fruity. Hoppy; spicy hop. Sweet fruity malty throughout. Very perfume and vanilla; or is that the "hint of dark rum". Drinkable, but unusual or do I mean odd?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma and flavour have some dark malts and sweet dried fruits. There’s an extra sweet finish as the hit of rum kicks in.
