4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ladnewton (910) - London, - MAR 31, 2011
Cask at the Jolly Butchers, London on 26th March 2011. Almost black, deep red with thin off-white ring of foam. Taramisu aroma, beautiful liquid taste of Christmas Lindor chocolate, touch of smokiness and plenty of biscuit malt. A beautifully sweet and fragrant kick as liquid subsides then a bittersweet finish on a velvety yet textured mouthfeel. Superbly crafted.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nocturne (142) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2012
Cask at the Micro Bar, Manchester. Earthy brown beer with a good head. Little vanilla and roast in the aroma. Cold coffee upon first sip, then very distinct rum washes that all away. The rum is done pretty well but perhaps at the expense of everything else, as there is little of the fruity character you might expect with a porter. It’s fairly thick and creamy but the mouthfeel could also be better. Even so, this is well worth a try.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cunningham (1940) - Halden, NORWAY - APR 11, 2012
Black with a subtle red colour, and a beige head. Caramel, vanilla and rum aroma. I thought this one would be to sweet. But it had a pleasant sweetness. Not to dominant. But when it contains caramel, chocolate, vanilla and rum. It has to be a little more than moderate sweet. Very nice and fine blend. They have had this on tap for a year now. So it is a poppular one. We found out that three in one evening was enough! [On handpull at Vernon Arms in Liverpool, England]
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leighton (4094) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2012
Cask at the London Drinker. Pours brown with a nice, off-white foam head. Bit of roast and cocoa in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, some nice cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Nice cocoa finish, light roast, mild earthy bitterness. Good beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerViking (1044) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2012
Gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 2012. Red-black with a small head and a sweet aroma of chocolate and artificial rum essence that is more like rum bonbons than rum itself. Some roast and burnt bitter notes in the body offset the sweetness a bit, but not enough. OK but not great.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2011
Dark ruby brown with a small off-white head. The aroma has lots of caramel, along with artificial rum notes. Sweet caramel and dark chocolate flavour with rum. People who know the Danish "Toms Skildpadde" chocolates, will recognize it immediately - and there’s a reason that’s a chocolate and not a beer
