2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nightfall (1263) - Hamburg, GERMANY - AUG 20, 2009
Cask @ New Oxford, Manchester. Apart from the fact that i had a lovely nutty brown color, it was a rather boring mild with nutty malt, some fruit aromas and flavors and a little ash in.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 10, 2009
A Mes rate: cask at the New Oxford. Very dark brown with a slight off white film. Unbrewed malt, faint roast chestnut and some tartness. Slightly astringent bitter finish. This has hops in... Not a great mild, and not a proper one either.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 asheft (2072) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2009
[cask @ RBESG 2009]
Gentle roasty aroma with vanilla and herbal hops. Almost clear black-red with a bubbly ring. Dry roasty flavour with weak vanilla and mocha notes. Significant bitterness overpowers this beer when combined with the dryness. Light body, low to moderate carbonation, lasting dark malt bitter finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (8625) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2009
[RBESG, Sheffield]
Tap @ New Oxford, Manchester.
Pours a nice, deep chestnut with a small, creamy, beige head. Aroma as roasted malts, light chocolate and some blackberries. Low carbonation, slightly watery. Flavour is hard roasted, some sweet chocolate to balance it, some ashy notes. Quite a nice beer, shame about the mouthfeel (which might be expected for a 3,2 % beer...)

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2009
Cask at Northamptonshire Beer Festival ’09. Very dark red brown with an off white head. Aroma of sweet fruity dartboard gradually resolves itself into buttered granary bread with raspberry jam. Taste has a distinct soapiness and a mid bitter finish. Plenty of excitement and interest, then, for a low gravity beer, but to be honest the aroma is its best feature. The rest is Fairy liquid.
