I discovered this one on my last day in Playa Del Carmen, and I knew I had to try it, but unfortunately they were sold only on a package of six. So I did the obvious, bought them and brought them all the way to Europe.  Very dark brown colour, a tone or two lighter from being totally black. Two finger head of brown colour that left a thick lace on the surface and around the glass, once disolved. Aroma is light, of dark chocolate, with some traces of coffee. Very bitter taste with its bitterness persisting and staying for quite long in your mouth. The taste of chocolate is also there, albeit light. Very thick on the body, sort of oily too, with light carbonation. Happy I took those with me after all.

Very nice, a real chocolate flavour in it. I wish Mexican beers were more like this one isntead only lagers. Nice thick fratures and aroma.

Flaska. Mörkbrun öl med röda inslag. Smutsvitt skum. Tunn kropp. Tråkig.

Pours a deep brown with a chocolate coco aroma. Taste is a bitter chocolate with malty notes. A rather dry beer for a stout. Not very complex but simple enough where it was easy drinking.

Buen aroma para una cerveza comercial. Maltas tostadas, inetersantes aromas a cafe y chocolate.

Pours a dark brown brew with a medium sized brown head with poor retention, aroma is moderate sweet and moderate bitte with notes of coffe and chocolate, medium to light bodied, flavor is moderte sweet and moderae bitter with notes of coffe chocolate and roasted malt, bitter finish; artificial chocolate flavor, lacks body and complexity.

Excuse me, 4’s? 3 and something? Do you understand what a stout is? You might applaud the effort from FEMSA o’right, but this no chocolate stout beer just because it taste like chocolate. Lacks head, proper bitterness and coffee notes. Furthermore the retro taste leaves sugar loaded notes which is clearly a fermentation mistake. Normal for a mass produced beer. The only chocolate stout about this is the colour and I ve my doubts when comparing to Mackeson XXX or doubles young. Anyway, for a market full of poorly made pale lagers, I guess that again, you applaud the effort. I dont.

A: Dark brown color, almost opaque, a medium head is formed with small creamy bubbles, carbonation look also medium but forms a permanent layer on top of the beer, body look not too thin. S: Aroma is simple, not to elaborated, toasted malts and very little chocolate can be sensed. T: Some toasted malts, some coffee and chocolate notes but not sweet and also some hops. M: Refreshing sensation. Bitterness is balanced with the sweetness of the toasted malt.
