2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
My goodness, another macro swill beer that actually turned out much better than expected. Very typical pilsneresque pour with a soapy white head and a clear, slightly carbonated light yellow appearance. The aroma lends hints of corn, wheat, plastic, skunked hops from the icky brown bottle, and lime. The flavor actually is mildly attractive in that there is no corny sweetness which in itself is pleasant. It consists of a mild wheaty, very slightly corny and limey flavor. Unfortunately it leads into its usual macro swill ending which is dry, cardboardy and wet maltiness. Overall i think i expected this to be much worse, but it really was acceptable for a readily available import. Carbonation levels are not crazy..they are held in check fairly well. Another beer down from Femsa....

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Compared to most other Mexican brews, this is quite good. Although still on the light side, this tastes adjunctless and has decent malt and hop flavor.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Only slightly better than a typical macro pils. Aroma and flavor suggested some mild hops presence and some subtle lime flavor.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is very sweet and hoppy. The color is yellow and it has a fast disappearing head. The flavor is pretty sweet of an OK malt - it seems that there has only been used aroma hops, since it totally lacks bitterness to balance the sweetness. A below average pilsener.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured like a standard American lager ... light, fizzy and white-headed. Bit of a starchy grain nose, but actually a pleasantly surprising smooth and light malt-flavored beer. Not nearly as bad as I anticipated.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Translucent yellow, skunked nose. Watery, bland, somewhat dry. All of these certain Mexican beers are the same brew with a different label (seems like). OK with spicy Mexican food.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
When in Mexico, forget the clear bottle "beers" and go for this one. Fuller than most Mex. beers, with a very satisfying bitterness and finish.

Mexico has some good beers and some bad beers. this is one of the two best Mexican beers out there. It is great on a dock in Ensenada with your feet hanging in the Pacific Ocean.

There are about a million of these cheap Mexican cervezas out there. Weak color and head, weak nose, dry and drinkable. Get whatever's cheapest.

Well... I have mixed feelings about this one. In the context of a Mexican restaurant, it seemed alright. Poured into a glass, however, the weak head, dirty-wheat-sugar aftertaste, and pale complexion placed it squarely in the commercial mass-market schwill category. Is there such a thing? At least, it's floating somewhere at the top of that category. You could certainly do worse (I know I have).
