1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 Not a good beer by any means, but I liked it better than most Mexican beers I have had and I did not end up pouring this one down the drain. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a pale yellow color with a minimal white head. The scent was sour and malty. The flavor bursts on the tongue a bit with a spicy, malty tang. The finish is sour.

This is just another of the bad beers from Mexico. Great food, lousy beer.

had this one with some mexican food over the weekend. had it out of the bottle but have had it before in a glass, typical look golden clear with white head and packed full of CO2. the nose resembled really nothing. tasted of slight malt and bittering hops. very watery and good to cut down the sting of spicy foods. i prefer negro modelo, but they all are about the same. ariba!

In Mexico, this is considered a "better" beer. Soft nose of "noble" hops, nice malt character.
In the States (Chicagoland)this beer often loses its soft hop character. Drink it on the beach at the Las Brisis Hotel in Ixtapa and you'll never consider anything else. Watch the schmucks drink their Coronas and lime.

A darker yellow pour. White head composed of creamy white bubbles. Little lacing. Wet malts in the aromas. Hops are very light. Flavor is of malts and hops, both small. Not much to the body, and the finish is rather smooth.

Found this at the new "Mexican" restraunt on Misawa Air Base. Not expecting anything but the Corona/Sol swill but was quite surprised that this actually had flavor! A pleasant light malty nose with grass tones. A decent taste and not as thin as the other Mexican lagers. Though it's not in the same class, it reminded me a bit of Lobkowicz Knight, a "Bohemian Lager"

Yikes! Bohemia is for Bohemians who have not a very good selection or not very good taste in beer. Yuck - this one was almost as bad as the Red Brick Lager and I almost thought I detected hemp in its bitter hoppy aftertaste. Don't expect me to get this again.

A little hop presence, straw aroma, golden hue. One of the better Mexican pils.

Kind of boring like most other Mexican beers, but not near as boring as American major labels. A light, well carbonated beer that goes well with beef and chicken. I'm sure this would also taste good on the beach in Cancun.

A pretty decent banquet beer. Great for washing down fajitas. Not too exciting, but good nonetheless.
