   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 2/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 12/20
Ernest (6200) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 6, 2002
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of lemon zest. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. Sure, it’s flimsy and unattractive, but it’s one of the best mainstream Mexican brews there is...interesting nose and nicely balanced.

Probably somewhere on the upper end of the Mexican beers. But a car accident is on the upper end of ways Id prefer dying. This is not very good beer. I always heard it was the best Mex, but I still go XX Amber over this. Nothing distinctive about it. I hate going to chinese and Mexican restaurants because I am usually forced to drink something that tastes very similar to this crap.

For my money, the best Mexican pilsener. Hoppy, malty, good palate. Bottle has good feel. Don’t waste money on Corona, get a Bohemia.

Not the best Mexican Beer but it is ok. I prefer the lighter Mexican brews rather than the darker ones. If I go dark I go European

One of my favorite Mexican beers. Some complexity in bitterness where it’s uncommon.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2003 Smelled like ass, but had a great flavor. Semi-sweet, almost fruity undertones on front end, dry back end. I was pleasantly surprised.
