3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated 3/16/13. 12 oz bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass.
A: Pours a lighter straw color with a good bit of translucence to its body. The head is a two finger white shade. Bubbly as can be, it fades away quickly, and doesn’t leave much lacing on the glass, either.
S: Grains and light maltiness, about what I expect from a Mexican lager. Oh, and some noble hops. Gee, imagine that, noble hops in a lager! Whodathunkit? I also notice some tart lemon/lime qualities.
T: The lime tone in the aroma moves down to the tongue, supporting a sweet malt base and faint yet zesty hop bite. Adjunct notes are thankfully kept in check. Simple as can be, but it just works so well with what it has.
M: Light and crisp. Carbonation isn’t overbearing, and it’s superbly drinkable.
O: This isn’t just good for a Mexican lager - it’s a legitimately good beer, period. Merely drinking this makes me think about 78F sunny days laying on the patio without a care in the world. This beer has just given me A) a go-to in Mexican restaurants, B) something to buy for non-beer-drinking guests when hosting a party, and C) something to actually enjoy besides margaritas should I ever end up vacationing in Cabo San Lucas.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Who knew Mexicans were brewing a Pilsner this good? This pours straw colored with medium carbonation and a thin white head. The nose is equal parts light grassy malt and aroma hops. The body is light and crisp with a refreshing bite of hops on the end. Overall, I doubt the average drinker could distinguish this from Staropramen, it is that similar to the lighter Czech pilsners.

Gold pour, quick head. Nose is light kilned grain. Middle is more sweet malt, brief hop assertiveness. Finish merges back to sweetish. OK.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dorada clara, ligeramente turbia y con poca espuma. Aroma malteado. Típica lager sudamericana, algo menos aguada que la media, y con un carácter mas citrico y lupulado cercano a las pilseners. Bastante carbonatada.

Flavor of caramel, sweet malts, some mild hops with hints of bitterness. Malty finish with hints of bitterness in the end.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
Pours pale yellowish with almost no head. Aroma is low: honey, corn flakes and lemon. Tasteless, just a bit metallic and watery. Darn close to water.

The Bohemia was a nice Mexican Pilsner. It was very nice for a Pilsner. Cheers!

Even as Mexican beers go, this one is not very good. There are better alternatives available.

For a pale lager this really isn’t too bad. Still no desire to have it with anything but Tex-Mex and even then, there are usually better alternatives available.
