Slacks (355), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Jan 27, 2008 12oz Bottle, Senor Frog’s, Playa del Carmen, Mexico: Day two of my quest to knock off as many Mexican beers as possible. Poured somewhere between a copper and light brown with a little bit of white head. Aroma is a bit fruity and floral, oddly pungent for what I’ve been used to. Flavour was actually quite nice with good malting offering caramel and bread and even, horror of horrors, some hops! By far my favourite of the Mexican offerings.
puboflyons (340), New Hampshire, USA Jun 30, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle. Pours a rich, crystal clear golden color high in carbonation with a thin, white fizzy head. Aroma of malts and a little yeast. Medium mouth feel. Bolder than most Pilsners and very smooth. I enjoyed this a lot. It is one of the better Mexican beers I have tried. robforbes (587), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jun 30, 2008 had this out of the bottle at amigo spot in san diego, california.
smell is malty, maple syrup.
taste is malt, pecan, nuts, slight hops. bulletrain76 (480), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Ah, so it is a pils. Definitely figured that it was just another Mexican pale lager when I opened it, but was suprised by a rather malty body and crisp, spicy hop bitterness. Golden colored with a seak head, light aroma of grassy hops, light bodied, but not the super watery texture of its compatriots. Still not a great pilsener, but definitely respectable and surprising enough considering the brewer. drewbeerme (1624), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 28, 2008 bottle. pours very clear and light straw color with white head. aroma is a bit grassy and spicy hop notes. flavors is same a bit grainy. watery body. but stil this is a clean pale lager with respectable saaz hop character. tasty. PickettsCharge (57), USA Jun 10, 2008 Tricky Mexicans, call the beer "Bohemia" which is German, and throw ole Montezuma the 3rd on the bottle and copy NEgra Modelo.... sounds like Money, tastes almost as good a NM, but not quite, good at MExican restuareante.
