Bottle. And now a good Vienna beer from Mexico. And guess what: it’s not a Modelo-beer, but from Cuachtemoc Moctezuma (the brewery that makes the better beers in Mexico). this beer is amber coloured, without bubbles and without a head. The smell is malyu, light grainy, light in the nose. Maybe too light. The taste is OK but light. But there is a light stiff grainy and malty taste with a yeasty finish on it, making it a very decent beer.

Pours a clear deep amber brew wit a one finger head with poor retention, very weak aroma with notes of caramel, light bodied, refreshing, medium carbonatation, the flavor has notes of caramel, sweet chocolate, malt, some metalic notes and some bitterness, low sweetness, low bitterness.

Bouteille bue à Playa Del Carmen, 5.5%. Couleur ambrée-brune, mousse beige. Arôme de malt caramel, sucre. En bouche soyeuse et maltée. Notes de chocolat at caramel. Finale sucrée. Très bonne beer

From bottle but poured some of it in a glass to see the colour (amber). Smell has notes of caramel, some light roast, raisin, vanilla, a very slight fruit note hard to categorize. As it’s being said, dry for its sweet aroma. Light-medium body, easy to drink but nicely complex.

Deep red amber pour with a tight tan head. The nose shows burnt sugar, light vanilla and some soft dark caramel. Lots of caramel character bu tthe beer remains remarkably dry. A touch of herbal character along with some slight soft smokiness. It’s a pretty decent brew - but I still prefer the regular Bohemia.

Bottle from supermarket in Cabo San Lucas. Easily one of my favorite Mexican beers. Nice roasted flavor, dark color, great drinkability without being typical Mexican-beer-watery. Much better than Negra Modelo or Dos XX Amber

I think this is my favorite Mexican beer so far. A little richer than Negra Modelo. Nice option if in Mexico. Serving: Bottle

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2010 Bottle in Tlachichuca, Mexico: Very light on the tongue; somewhat watery. Yet chewy and tar-like in taste. Healthy amount of bitterness follows. Hints of toffee, chocolate and watered-down coffee.

Bottle. Pours copper w an off white head. Nose is oxidized raisins and a bit vegetal. Flavor is brown sugar and raisins, not much else. Kinda like a Belgian strong ale without the yeast or high alcohol. Oxidized. Nice enough carb and body.
Probably the most character of any beer I’ve has on this trip. A Shame about the oxidaton
