An export lager, garnet in colour, with a clean roasted malt flavour that provides a full round bodied taste. A beer shaped by history and age-old traditional Czech methods.

Bottle. Clear, deep chestnut color with a nice, but short-lived beige head. The beer tried it’s best to get out of the bottle on it’s own. Dried fruits and a little roastiness in the aroma. The flavor has dried fruits, sweetness, a little roast and some hops. Medium to full body, roasted finish. The beer was two months bast BB-date, giving it a little cellarish note, but I ignored it in the rating. A really nice, dark czech. (070528)

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown colour with a huge rocky creamish light brown well lasting head leaving a good lacing. Sweet aroma of roasted caramel and malt, some dark chocolate and dark fruits and metal. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is quite sweet with roasted caramel and malt, dark fruits, bitter dark chocolate, some liquorice and coffee. Sweet roasty finish. Good but too sweet.

bottle, obviously meant for export, it said "birra rossa" on the label. Brewed with 4 different malts. Flavour reminds me of coffe and stout, very malty indeed, not too sweet, however. Dry and hoppy finish.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a large frothy good lacing light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, dark cocolate, sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.

Dark amber, nice offwhite/brownish head. Nice roasted aroma with chocolate, burnt sugar, caramel and some vanilla. Malty chocolate flavor, milky, a bit roasted and creamy, some bitterness in the finish.

Dark brown, nice, golden head. The aroma is sweetish with notes of roasted malt. The flavour is lightly sweet with lots of roasted malt and a bit of candy sugar. The bitterness is moderate, but rather dry. The overall impression is a bit too sweet IMO. 1606

(Bottle) Deep, dark, ruby colour with frothy, disappearing beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark cherries, wild berries and dark bitter chocolate. Malty taste with caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee (capuccino?) and discreet hoppy notes in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel and not as sweet as czech dunkels tend to be. Very enjoyable.

Chestnut, small tan head, aroma is lovely and malty for only 4.4%. Taste is nice enough but the finish is a little watery.

Draught at Svéjk - thx for Bohemia, Kim! Dark amber with a nice creamy head. Malty, sweet vanilla aroma. Taste is Sweet, burnt bitter malt with hints of licorice and caramel. And then there´s the atmosphere of Svéjk...I just enjoy myself there....
